What a Party!!

Being part of a church that is predominantly Hispanic, we have picked up several aspects of the culture. One thing we really enjoy is the emphasis placed on a child's first birthday. We thank God for every child He gives to our family, and watching them go through so many changes in that first year of life is nothing short of a miracle to celebrate!

We thought we went "all out" with Ruth's first birthday, but the church has grown and with that, our circle of friends. In addition, this year even more family decided to come down and join in the festivities. All in all we had around 60 people in our house, patio, and backyard. It was a blast!!! Joseph loved having a day of freedom to run and play in the water toys, eat all the junk food he could get his hands on, and even tear into a few presents. (click on the photos to see them larger!)

By far, Joseph's food of choice on his birthday were the cheese-balls
