On any given day, Ruth will come to me with plate of food (wooden and plastic in nature) that she has prepared in her kitchen for me to enjoy. Today, she arrived not with a slice of pizza as usual, but the entire pizza pie, and six plates, which she laid out on the floor as if six people were going to enjoy this pizza picnic-style. As she served each piece, she declared who it was for:
The first three were typical: "Mama," "Roof" (Ruth), and "Jof" (Joseph)
Then came someone included on frequent occassion, despite his absence from the noon-day meal: "Daee" (Daddy)
The final two pieces nearly broke my heart: "Wam" (William) and "Eya" (Ella)
Frequently Ruth will catch glimpses of them in photos and audibly remind who they are, but this is the first time they had been included in playtime. Oh to live closer...

Now that just tugs at my heart and makes me smile. Can't wait to see you all soon. Papa D.
