We're slowly taking down the Christmas decorations. One thing yet to be put away is a magnetic nativity scene on the fridge. Over the past month, Ruth has enjoyed playing with it, and I have enjoyed explaining the various people involved in the story of Jesus' birth.
Tonight, while I made dinner, Ruth and I had the following conversation:
Ruth: "Hey Mama--- Baby Jesus!!!"
Mama: "Where?"
Ruth: "Baby Jesus!!" (taking the piece off the fridge to show me)
Mama: "Wow, you're right. That's baby Jesus."
Ruth: "Hey Mama-- where blee?" (blee is blanket in Ruthie talk)
Mama: "Where's baby's Jesus' blanket?"
Ruth: "Baby Jesus blee" (nodding in affirmation, but looking curious as to where it has gone)
Mama: "Does baby Jesus need a blanket?"
Ruth: "He cold" (nodding again)
Mama: "Oh Okay"
Ruth: "Hey Mama-- shhhhhh, he sleep" (walking off to be distracted by something else)
