Golfing Buddies

This past Saturday, I went with the ladies of the church to a jewelry making class. Due to his love of eating, Joseph had to go with me :)

Ruth, however, stayed home for a Saturday with Daddy. Cameron got her dressed (in matching outfits with himself, no less) and then took Ruth to the back yard where he had a golf lesson awaiting her. Truth be told: SHE LOVED IT! In fact, she woke up the next day and, after breakfast, looked at Cameron and said "I wan gof" (I want to play golf). Cameon, needless to say, had tears in his eyes...

Another week of life

Joseph is now three weeks old and "growing like a weed," for lack of a better phrase. At his two week check up, he had gained a total of two pounds and one inch since birth.

After three unexpectedly successful days of potty training, Ruth got struck with a mighty head cold that pretty much killed any chance at potty training. What with minuscule naps and restless nights being the norm since she caught this nasty bug, having her concentrate on using the potty seemed like cruel and unusual punishment. So we've taken a hiatus until she feels up to par.

Unfortunately Ruth is great at sharing with her new brother: toys, snacks, and COLDS! Three days after Ruth started coughing and dripping, Joseph is now sneezing through the night. So, Cameron and I transfer the humidifier from room to room and remind each other how someday we will look back on these days with reminiscent smiles.

Here are some recent photos:

More bonding...

(This photo was taken the day before we started potty training...bye bye diapers!)

Joseph likes to lay under this toy that lights up black and white shapes and plays classical music. Ruth has suddenly developed an affinity for the classics as well, and crawls under there with him whenever she can.

"Benefits" of Potty Training

Considering all that is involved in having a newborn in the house, some would call us crazy; but with Cameron home all this a week, we thought we'd let Ruth have a try at potty training.

Ruth is doing great-- partly due to the incentive of receiving a piece of candy every time she goes "pee pee in the potty." Ruth rarely eats candy. With having her consume several pieces a day this week, Cameron and I have reaffirmed why we are against giving her too much sugar on a regular basis...take a look:

VeggieTales

Yesterday, Ruth introduced Joseph
to the wide and wonderful world of VeggieTales.

While he only lasted about 3 minutes before getting bored,
we managed to get a few cute pictures.
